NCRCC: Teeing Up a New Strategic Direction The NCR Country Club was once an 18-hole champion golf club located in Kettering, Ohio during 1954. The club was established a part of the employee benefits of the National Cash Register Company, but over time membership was offered to the public. In 1997, ATT invested over a $4.0 million interest-loan in order to renovate the club facilities. ATT’s primary purpose was to increase the golf membership to 680 and social memberships as much as possible. In order to have reasonable success, ATT appointed McMahon Group to provide strategic consulting and planning process. According to Poister (2010), strategic planning is labeled as a simply organizational management activity that is used to sustain operations, set priorities, and establish agreements on intended outcomes to help adjust the company’s direction to be in-line with the changing environment. One way this case assignment can be evaluated is by using the management-research question hierarchy. According to Coop er and Schindler (2014), the process is designed to move the researcher through various levels of questions, each with a specific function within the overall business research process.
